Acquired from the Twins this offseason for Kyle Farmer, Legumina’s been impressive in camp. Tony Santillan is expected to start the season on the injured list, but should return early this season. Stoudt, who was in the second big trade with the Mariners, split his time between Double A with the Mariners and Reds and then made six starts in Triple A with the Reds. It wouldn’t hurt to start again in Triple A. Williamson split his time between Double A and Triple A last year. These two should debut this year - but not sure if it’ll be Opening Day. Levi Stoudt and Brandon Williamson have been impressive in camp, especially Stoudt. Anderson did everything to endear himself to the organization last year and he and Johnson have a long history. It’s possible he’d accept a minor-league assignment with the Reds knowing that it still may be his quickest way back to the big leagues. Cincinnati is - and maybe more importantly, wherever pitching coach Derek Johnson is - a comfortable place for him. He has taken advantage of his first shot. Anderson took a minor-league deal with no invite to big-league camp. And he’s still there for a reason.įor some reason, I do see Chase Anderson as having a chance to make a start for the Reds this season.
Weaver hasn’t had the prettiest numbers in spring, but it’s early. Hunter Greene, Nick Lodolo, Graham Ashcraft, Luis Cessa, Luke Weaver 297/.350/.471 hitter over 364 games) and this is his chance to show he’s a big leaguer. He’s produced in his career at Triple A (where he’s a. He’s currently playing in the WBC for Puerto Rico, the only position player in the Reds’ big-league camp playing in the WBC. He was limited by injury in Korea last season, but was healthy this winter playing in Puerto Rico. Ramos, who turns 31 in April, played in Korea last season after reaching the big leagues with the Diamondbacks in 2021. Myers will likely play more first base than expected if Votto isn’t ready for the first day. This is assuming Senzel’s not ready for the regular season, of course. They’ll keep him in the lineup with starts at first base and as a DH. The plan is for Stephenson to start behind the plate four out of every 10 games. While Joey Votto and Nick Senzel have yet to be counted out for the March 31 opening series against the Pirates, both will need to get on the field soon in Arizona to have a chance to be ready for the regular season on Opening Day. Justin Dunn and Tejay Antone have been ruled out of being ready for the first part of the season.
